~Letters To The Editor~

Hi Wilmet,

How many volunteers do you need?  I can be at the park that morning and help

register or what ever it takes.  Do we have a bull horn to start the race off with?

Willing to Help

Dear Willing-

We will need the following:

1. Registration - 1 person

2. Water Station - 2 people

3. Route Monitors - 5 people

4. Finish line  - 2 people

A bullhorn would be helpful.

Thanks again,

Wilmet

Gina,

I don’t have the paper in front of me but I remember something about needing a provider for the emergency thing.  I work as a Physician Assistant and my wife is a RN.  I prescribe medications. Let me know if you need help.

Matt

Matt,

Thank you so much for responding. At the present time we are still discussing this proposal from the Palm Beach Health Department and trying to come up with the volunteers that it would take to put this program into play.  Please stay in touch with the progress as we TRY to move further with it.

Thanks again,

Gina

Gina,

What can I do to help with the planning of the open house weekend or whatever it ends up? Would The Heights qualify as affordable housing (yet)? Would there be time to coordinate with the town? Tell me what you need and I will try to help out.

Holly

.

Holly,

I think you should call Tracey Lamport at The Town of Jupiter and see how she wants to set it up with the Realtors Board.  I know that we will need Realtors on hand in the park that da. They will also need residents to ride the tram around and tell the visitors about our neighborhood, as well as at different locations where refreshments will be set up.  And yes our neighborhood has affordable housing.  I don’t know much more about it at this time, other than we have selected a date of Sunday, February 24th, and the town is looking for a bank to sponsor the refreshments for the day.

Glad you are on board for this, we need Realtors and residents from our neighborhood to help show case the value and pleasure of living in a family oriented community, were the motto is “Neighbor working with Neighbor”.

Thanks

Gina Pierce

Heights Chairperson

Katie,

Is there anything that the Town of Jupiter can do for illegal dumping on private property? We live on Garrett Street, where there is an empty lot that is owned by a private individual.  The owner pays to have the lot mowed and keeps it well maintained.  However, there are a couple of neighbors that feel that this lot is their own personal dumping ground for yard waste and remodeling material such as countertops, drywall and discarded furniture.  Some of the neighbors actually walk with their wheel barrows 3 or 4 houses to dump on this lot so they don't have to kill the grass in their own yard. The yard waste collectors may take up to 2 or 3 weeks to pick up some of this waste because no one calls to have it picked up.  I just hope this owner is not getting code violation letters from the Town of Jupiter because of their wonderful neighbors’ lack of consideration.

Be a good neighbor; put your waste in your own yard for pickup.  To be so bold as to dump trash on someone else’s property is just disrespectful. Thank you.

A concerned neighbor

Dear Concerned,

Thanks for calling our attention to this matter. We have forwarded your concerns to town authorities in hopes that they can help put an end to this. You are correct to assume that the owner would be billed or penalized for this abuse- a price they should not have to pay for something that was not of their doing. It is hard to imagine that anyone would fail to realize that SOMEONE must pay for their dumping! We will let you know when we hear back from the town—in the meantime please don’t hesitate to report this to the towns non emergency number, should you witness these actions again in the future.

Web Posting-

Are you the neighborhood that really decorates for Christmas with lots of lights? I do the annual list of lights for the Palm Beach Post and I'm trying to find someone whom I can interview and who will let me photograph their home. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Reporter Palm Beach Post

Dear Reporter,

Thanks for your interest in our neighborhood. Yes we are THAT neighborhood. There are several neighbors that do a wonderful display each year and would love the opportunity to share their stories with you and your readers. Please don’t hesitate to contact our chairperson Gina Pierce- she will be happy to help connect you with a willing family.
