Hello from Your Chairperson Dear Neighbors;
Hard to believe that December is here already, time to decorate our neighborhood for Christmas and get ready for the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season.
I can’t believe this year is almost at an end. Where did it go? So let’s take a moment and review what we the “Friends of The Heights” have been doing this year.
We’ve kicked the year off by
breaking ground on a dream and a vision that our forefathers wanted for our
neighborhood, an Entryway Sign that would be worthy to stand as a beacon proudly
announcing to all that past it that they are entering into “The Heights
of Jupiter”. I know it is not
done as yet, but with the limited number of volunteers we have, we are doing
well. My wish for the New Year
would be to have a “Ribbon Cutting Ceremony” in honor of the
completion of our sign. If you have
any time to spare for the construction of the sign please e-mail our Project
Manager,
We then hosted our first Spring Egg Hunt in our park for all of our neighborhood children. And what a great turn out we had. The park was so speckled with eggs that no one left without their baskets laden with eggs filled with goodies. All that attended had a great time and said they can’t wait to do it again next year.
We saw the treat of proposed School Boundary Changes by the Palm Beach County School Advisory Board Committee. Residents, true to Heights form, gathered in the park for information and to decide on how to best help our community fight this. A steering committee was formed and started to tackle the facts as pertained to our neighborhood and its residents. Long story short, for now, due to the hard work of our volunteers and the support from The Town of Jupiter we have helped the ABC realize that their plan was not the best and that they should consider the others. We are blessed with a steering Committee that is staying on top of this issue and will keep us up to date as issues progress, so please watch the paper and website for future updates, in case your help is needed when the final study is presented to the School Board.
In May we celebrated our third
annual Picnic-In-The-Park. Residents found it to be a great time to display their
crafts and/or business for our neighbors to see. We had freshly grilled hot dogs,
hamburgers and soft drinks plenty.
We rocked with music provided by
Let’s not forget about our
Halloween Parade Around the Park. We had Spidermen, Princesses, fairies,
pumpkins, cowgirls and boys, and more goblins then I could count. Let’s hear it again for our Activities
Director,
The year is not over yet however.
We still have our
Great news! The Town of
I want to acknowledge all of our residents that made the time to attend our meetings, e-mail or call me with their concerns, ideas, suggestions and opinions on different issues. If you haven’t had the time to make one of our meetings please try to in the near future. They are very informative. If your schedule won’t permit it and you want to receive updates on our community happenings via e-mail, please send me an e-mail @ GinaRealtor@comcast.net with your name and e-mail address information and I will gladly add you to our e-mail list for updates, the meeting agenda, upcoming events and activities, as well as alerts from the Jupiter Police Department and other organizations.
I want to extend a welcome to all of our new residents that have moved into our neighborhood and invite you to become part of “The Friends of The Heights of Jupiter” group. It is a great way to meet your neighbors and to feel a part of our community. Please call or e-mail me and we will arrange for one of our board members to deliver a copy of our monthly paper and provide you with information of upcoming events.
Our next “Friends of the
Heights” Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 10th at
Do you have a neighbor or a co-worker that has no family to spend the holiday with? Perhaps an elderly couple that can’t get around so well or a single parent that just doesn’t have much time for all that needs to be done at this time of year. I encourage everyone to give the most precious gift of all to someone in need, your time! There is nothing more gratifying then a smile from someone that you took the time to help. It could be as simple as offering to pick up a box of Christmas cards and stamps for them, or taking them a batch of cookies, or even helping them decorate their home for the holidays. The joy you give is wonderful, but the joy you receive is ten fold.
From my family to all of you, “May each day begin with a smile on your face, a song in your heart and spirit in your soul.” And remember IT'S NOT WHAT YOU GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Chairperson
