Hello from Your Chairperson
Dear Neighbors;
Happy New Year to all! New Year’s Day is a day to relax
and enjoy the start of a bright and promising new year, a new beginning. It is a time to be with family, eat too
much and watch the parades and ball games that day.
It’s also the time that so
many of us make New Years resolutions from practical to spiritual, many of us
set significant goals for ourselves for more meaningful, productive, healthful,
or peaceful lives. What will it be
this year? Did you vow to make the
time to read a book, to organize your desk, to declutter your mind of
nonessential and negative thoughts, to go on a strict diet and exercise
program, to quit smoking, to make more time for you family and friends, to work
harder towards your dreams of a better life or was it to get more involved in
your neighborhood? I wish you
success on any and all resolutions that you make.
I hope some
of you decided to become more involved in our neighborhood. We are all so fortunate to live in the
kind of neighborhood that we have.
During the holidays I had the pleasure of meeting some people that were
driving through our neighborhood looking at all the festive decorations. They saw me in my drive way and stopped
to tell me how pretty everything looked.
They said that they live in another neighborhood but always come here
every holiday just to see how our residents have decorated this year. They told me that on Christmas Eve when
all of their family is gathered together, they drive through and sing Christmas
Carols as they enjoy our decorations, but most of all they enjoy the spirit that our residents share with them by
waving, shouting greetings of “Merry Christmas, Season’s Greetings,
Happy Hanukah, Felix Navidad, or Happy Holidays”. Regardless of the
greeting that you are accustomed to the message is the
same in every language, we wish you well! That spirit is present in our
neighborhood at Christmas and every day of the year!! What a wonderful blessing to all of us
that live here.
We are currently working with The
Town of Jupiter Neighborhood Services and Independence Middle School
to try and get our “Friends of the Heights of Jupiter” meetings
changed from Jupiter
Town Hall to the Middle
School. Hopefully with this it will
enable more of our residents to attend our meetings and take an active role in
our community. To make a long story
short, the bottom line is we need more neighbors to get involved in our
“Friends of The Heights of Jupiter” meetings, Beautification
Phases, Parade of homes, and our Water District meetings. As our editor, Katie
Shepherd is famous for saying, “Together We Are
Strong”, so please join us and help us become stronger with your ideas
and input. Help us to maintain the
vision statement of our Neighborhood… “Neighbor working with neighbor to enhance and maintain a
community of people who are united in creating a beautiful, safe and friendly
environment where families take pride in where the live.”
The Town of Jupiter will be helping us to organize “A Parade of Homes” for our
neighborhood in February. They will
do advertising; work with the Realtor Association and Lending Companies to
sponsor this event. Please watch
the paper and website for more information to follow. IT
IS IMPORTANT THAT WE HAVE A FEW RESIDENTS VOLUNTEER FOR TO HELP WITH THIS. If you are interested please e-mail me.
I want to thank all of our residents that have made
the time to attend our meetings, e-mail or call me with their concerns, ideas,
suggestions and opinions on different issues. If you haven’t had the time to
make one of our meetings please try to in the near future. They are very informative. If your schedule won’t permit it
and you want to receive updates on our community happenings via e-mail, please send me an e-mail GinaRealtor@comcast.net with your
name and e-mail address information and I will gladly add you to our e-mail
list for updates, the meeting agenda, upcoming events and activities, as well
as alerts from the Jupiter Police Department and other organizations.
I want to extend a warm welcome to
all of our new residents that have
moved into our neighborhood and invite you to become part of “The Friends
of The Heights of Jupiter” group.
It is a great way to meet your neighbors and to feel a part of our
community. Please call or e-mail me and we will arrange for one of our board
members to deliver a copy of our monthly paper and provide you with information
of upcoming events.
Our next “Friends of the
Heights” Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 10th at 7:00pm. It will be held at the Jupiter Town Hall.
I hope we will see you there. (Please check our website or contact a member of
our board if you need directions.)
From my family to all of you,
“May each day begin with a smile on your face, a song in your heart and
spirit in your soul.”
And remember IT'S NOT WHAT YOU
GATHER, BUT WHAT YOU SCATTER THAT TELLS WHAT KIND OF LIFE YOU HAVE LIVED!
Happy New Year,
Gina
