Jupiter Police Department Hosts

7th  Junior Police Academy

 

 

The Jupiter Police Department, in a continuing effort to enhance our support of the young people in our community and youth programs in the Town of Jupiter, is now accepting registrations for its 7th Junior Police Academy.

 

The dates for the academy are Monday, June 18, 2007 through Friday, June 22, 2007.

 

The classes will be held daily, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Jupiter Police Department Briefing and Training Room.

 

This two week program is designed to:

  • Expose teens to the operations of the Jupiter Police Department, meet and get to know the people behind the Badge.            
  • The hiring and training process of Jupiter Police Officers
  • Crime Scene Investigations
  • Accident, D.U.I. investigations
  • Use of traffic RADAR and LASER
  • Deadly Force
  • Community Policing
  • Marine Unit, Underwater Recovery Unit & Beach Patrol Unit.
  • Jupiter Explorer Program

Also:

  • Tour the Police facility
  • K-9 behavior and demonstration
  • Participate in a firearms training simulator

 

 

There will be no cost for the course, however, seating is limited and is determined on a first come, first served basis. So spread the word to your friends and family. There are still seats available.
