Lonesome Despair: Hope in the End

Lonesome Despair: Hope in the End

By John Orbigoso, age 14

Oh, Oh great Joy!

I see the Light!

So warm, so welcoming,

Expelling my fright!

With strength restored,

And hope anew,

I embark now undeterred,

Companions no longer few!

Soldier of Light now am I,

Banishing back Darkness,

Answering each cry,

Spreading the blissful blessedness.

No longer alone,

No longer do I despair.

I have found it,

Replacing evil glare.

As I have been saved,

Others in turn I shall.

With this glorious blade,

Darkness will surely fall.

Editors Note: According to the author Hope in the End is a continuation of Lonesome Despair. He warns us that the mood is dark and meant to serve as a reflection on how the world is today. It says how the troubles of the world can cause some people to feel depressed and alone. Hope in the End however talks about keeping hope realizing as with most things in life there is "light at the end of the tunnel"!
