Vehicle Burglary is a crime
that is frequently committed and can be prevented. Most vehicle
burglars are opportunists and will only break into a vehicle if they can see
something of value inside. If everyone will follow a few simple rules, we can
prevent this crime from happening.
NEVER
LEAVE ANYTHING OF VALUE INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE.
The best way to prevent this crime is to remove the temptation.
Secure your valuables including your cell phone, radar detector, coins,
briefcases and anything else you might leave in your vehicle in a place where
it cannot be seen from the outside. If it can be seen, the burglar will not
hesitate to break out the window to get to it. The best action is to remove
these items from the vehicle altogether.
ALWAYS
It would shock you to know how many vehicle burglaries are
committed because the victims left their valuables in their vehicles and did
not lock the door. An unlocked door also gives the
burglar an opportunity to enter your vehicle and look around for anything that
might be hidden inside.
If everyone would just do these two simple things, the crime of vehicle
